SPIKE Studio’s 2025 Summer Academy is back at Georgia Tech College of Design for two Academies!

Last year’s SPIKE Studio Academy experience centered on the exciting Centennial Yards (The Gulch) redevelopment project, offering young architectural students a unique opportunity to reimagine urban spaces. Students explored concepts of home, human interaction, and community through design and construction, engaging deeply with the challenges of creating inclusive and innovative environments. They were tasked with designing structures that balanced personal and communal spaces, using their creativity to envision transformative ideas for the future of Centennial Yards .

This year’s SPIKE Studio Academy experience focuses on the transformative redevelopment of the Atlanta Civic Center, a landmark project that combines history, culture, and innovation. Students will explore the complexities of reimagining iconic urban spaces, learning how architecture can bridge the past and future to serve evolving community needs.

Registration fee: $200, which includes architecture/design supplies, a program notebook, and mailing. Registration is open to students from rising 9th to 12th grades. It is limited to 80 Students (40 per academy). Student registration scholarships are available based on financial need and upon request.
